NIMCAST

Beginning in FY 2007, which starts on Oct.1, 2006, all federal preparedness funding will be conditioned upon full compliance with the NIMS. NIMCAST is a web-based assessment tool that the Georgia Office of Homeland Security is using in order to achieve statewide compliance with the federal mandate to adopt and utilize the National Incident Management System (NIMS).   The tool can be found at www.fema.gov/nimcast/ . All law enforcement agencies in the state of Georgia will need to complete the NIMCAST assessment and attain full compliance with the National Incident Management System.  Agencies should work with their county EMA Directors to complete the assessment.  County EMA Directors can set up accounts and issue user permissions for law enforcement agencies.  If there is need for technical assistance or if there are any questions regarding NIMS or the NIMCAST, please contact Lanney Holmes with the Georgia Office of Homeland Security at 404-635-7237 or email at  lholmes@gema.state.ga.us
